Mate has a Lite-On drive which has not been flashed before. I know how to flash the others but having looked around I get the impression soldering is needed for a Lite-On. Is this still the case with the new 1.51 firmware?
Link to a guide would also be helpful?

all virgin liteon's must have there drive info retrieved from serial interface. solder if you wish but not needed. easiest is to buy an xtractor or ck3.
360mods.net has a link to the jungle flasher tutorial, most recent tut available.

Can this be done without those tools? Just like the way I flashed my benq, my nforce4 sata + jungleflasher?

sort of...
not like your benq. you will still have sata connected and drive powered but you need to access serial data that does not intitially come over the sata connection. The xtractor and spear is rather cheap and worth every penny. If you are short on cash then you can make a tool to receive the serial data. There are a few forum threads describing how to make it with items from a junk monitor or radio, etc. Does your pc have a nine pin serial com port?
Once this is done... thats it, as it stand now you can retrieve everything you need over sata once the initial flash is done with the above tools. What I mean is if you have to upgrade again in the future then no need for serial tool.

So you need to get these tools to retrieve this information the first time you do it only?
From then on it's a straight flash like any other drive?

that will work. I use it. I use that websight too cuz one of the main salesmen, Slyvester, is extremely willing to satisfy his customers.

Quick question mate...
If my drive is flashed with ixtreme 1.51 and I have a kreon drive using schrtom 3.3 or 3.4 or 4.0 to backup my games. Will this be compatible?
I used schrtom 3.3 for some games but that doesn't work with my drive xbox 360 and 3.4 and 4.0 but doesn't work with some of my other xbox 360 drives. I have 3 xbox 360s. Just want to know if there's a set firmware or backup tool that will work for all schrtom 3.3 3.4 and 4.0
Thanks in advance

Is the iXtreme firmware stealth firmware? Do I need to stealth patch games still before I go online?

iXtreme checks all the security info to allow you to boot a properly stealthed game. It can also fix the 359 angle on the fly.

Most ripping methods now automatically pull the security info for you. I think wxripper is the only one you got to patch with the SS, DMI, PFI etc etc.

I flashed 3 liteons and everything was gravy. I tried a fourth and it appeared to work fine, fired up the box and the screen was split down the middle and was displaying colours incorrectly, then tried a sammy ms28 and it done exactly the same! Used a maximus with spear- can't find any similar problems in the threads, Please help.

That's not a dvd rom error, that's a GPU error. Might as well give 1-800-4-MY-XBOX a ring.
