not so at all.. you can push one at a time. you don't need a special tool. do you have a small flat blad screw driver with a 1/4" or smaller blade? thats all I use. place the console on your lap horizontally. if your are right handed then the front is on your left, and vice versa. (I am right handed) unclip all the clips on the front underneath where the face place would be(left hand side), ( you do have the faceplate off, right?) remove the the eject button cuz it just gets in the way. with your left hand keep the front of the case spread, about 2 or 3 inches. this keeps the front tabs from re-latching and puts tension on the rear clips. now with your right hand poke the flatblade screwdriver in to each of the tabs right at the seem of the REAR of the console. push straight in horizontally, paralell to the way the console is sitting on your lap. poke one at a time, each time you will hear a loud click or snap. remember to keep the front spread with your left hand or the back clips will continuously re-seat. bam... 6 snaps later and the bottome half is gone. then you need a torx bit to take only 6 of the screws out and the top is gone. There it is!!! your dvd drive and motherboard. just waiting for you to install a molested rendition of the firmware. Goodluck!!!!

my method does not damage anything and it leaves no evidence of opening the case

groove in what? the case? if so it won't hurt anything but your are not poking straight on if it is grooving the plastic. don't wiggle the screw driver, just push straight in. example, if the console were hypothetically perfectly level on you lap... then the screwdriver should be perfectly level, on a paralell plane. push straight in.

if you can't be bothered then why am I typing so damn much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, if you had a warranty then you just voided it. You can't leave marks if you're worried about markings on the case, other than that, it's fine.

he didn't void anything. he is well aware of the sticker and we gave him some suggestions on preserving the sticker. a little nick near the tabs will be completely overlooked by any service outlet. not to worry. like someone mentioned earlier today on another thread : if you burn 4 games for the price of media then your xbox is paid for.

That is not what I have read or heard, but guess that's good news. I heard, If they can tell it has been opened, then you're sol, even if you did a good job on the sticker. Who knows how true that is.

I understand what you are saying but others have reported sending them in without stickers and receiving refurbed ones under warranty. Guess you never know till you try but a little nick is hardly evidence of tampering. MS is not a forensic lab, ya know.

Pretty interesting. Just curious, what do you use when the sticky stuff from the sticker starts to wear?

LOVINLOST - The thread title leaves a lot to be desired plus you need to cease the annoying and lazy text speak. Maybe you'd best not post when you're having a paddy as it looks silly on screen.
