I have a bad pcb on my dvd ms 25 drive so I have to flash the new one..

what exatly do I do. I need the key from the orig one and put it on the good one??

the good one is from a old xbox... can some 1 guide me thru this.. I have a sata card on its way and ive heard i dont even need it for some comps

im not using jungle flasher cause i dont have a dual layer burner

wow.. I think you are confused. start over and tell me slowly what you are doing... you have a bad sammy?

you don't need a dl burner to use JF unless you need activate.iso... which you can get around anyway. if you dont have a dl burner then why flash?

maybe I am confused.

Il make it more clear.
I have a bad pcb on my dvd drive
I have a old drive thats from a old xbox
I swapped the pcb from the old drive from the old xbox into my xbox drive that isent workng becuase the pcb is bad
Now in order for the pcb from my old xbox to work in my xbox I need to flash it

follow me so far???

Now I dont have a dual layer burner So I can not burn data onto a dual layer dvd to flash my drive so Im gonna use I prep

Now Ive never flashed a drive
I need to figure out how to get the key from the old pcb from a diffrent xbox thats bad ,to the pcb thats good In the working xbox


So my question to make it simple is that I need to flash my dvd drive with iprep.How do I get the keys to match up so the xbox motherboard can read it




If i can do it with jungle flasher with out a daul layer burner thats fine

okay i understand, I am on board now.

first how sure are the old board is bad? because we need the old board to give us the serial key. there are so many ways to get it. if it physically is not damaged (no burn marks, not cracked in half, not covered in beer) then we can use it. probally easiest in dosflash if it has been difficult to get recognized in JF. if it IS physically damage then you need to have the flash chip removed and read. I can do that for you if you don't have the hardware and are in the US.

first tell me about the damage and that will determine which route we take.

you absolutely need a sata port. cant' go any further till you get one.

f.y.i with the original pcb when I insert the disc the dvd does not spin

with the good pcb when I insert the disc it tryed to read over and over the disc spins but It wont work until I flash it

I wanna prepare my self for when I get the driver.

Ive downloaded iprep ,ixtreme, and port032 exe(the sata driver)

is this the right driver?
and It looks like in step 7 I should remove the orig pcb(bad one) and install the good pcb
