Hi Guys,

I have a D2SUN V3 solderless modchip in my wii and although all back up games work perfectly, some games such as Sims 2 Castaway backup seem to make more noise when playing such as a vibrating noise etc. Does anyone think this will eventually be a problem with the lifespan of the wii dvd drive as in a new dvd drive motor/lense would eventually need replacing?

Thanks for any replies

I was thinking common sense i was actually wondering if it could be the media im using that could be creating this? or even using a different burning speed help?

Should have been more clearer in my original post ;-)

what speed did you burn your game? Try verbatim -r and burn at the lowest speed. The LED lens might not reading the data correctly so it will try and read again. Just like if you have dirty CD/DVD.

Thanks for the reply. Ive always burnt at 1x with imgburn and im currently using TDK DVD-R, the vibration of the disc and other noises doesnt happen with every game it just does it with a couple of games and all the rest of the games burnt on these discs dont seem to get this noise when used. :)

my thoughs:

So it can be the way the games was dump and re encoded. Some games are not actually +4G, so fillers or dummy data is also in the iso. So this could be your case.

There are tools in the web or even in afterdawn that you can re-patch your ISO image.

Thanks for that i will do some research on it, i have noticed that the budget games are more likely to have the dummy data added where as premium games such as the sims castaway dont or have very little.
