I got an elite xbox from my friend with the 3 red lights, I then went to do the whole x-clamp mod that I have seen on youtube. I was able to fix my original xbox like this. Im pretty sure I did it right, but when I start it up the xbox the center green light starts to flash only (none of the others lights turn on)and the fan starts full speed and later two red lights start to flash. Im hoping that someone has had this problem and could help me out?
maybe... but I have done hundreds of these and sometimes I make a mistake and have an extra washer on one corner and cpu heatsink isn't touching the die right... and bam, overheat. It happens really fast. Don't keep turning it on and off as you may damage the cpu. Review your work and let us know what you find.
Took it apart and checked everything is where it suppose to be and add a bit more thermal paste and still nothing. I did the whole error code thing and I get 0011; if that helps?
11 means cpu overheat. just like we were talking about.
( you can always reference your error codes with google or on this forum type Ultimat RROD into the search bar, it might even be stickied, haven't read them in a while, I'm guilty)
anyway are you sure you got the right thickness washers? secondly is your shroud in place when this is happening?
Im pretty sure everything is the rite size and where it suppose to be, I put all back together and still it powers on with only the center green light turning on, and later the two red lights turn on, the fan goes full speed at first and then stops.
Alrite put it back together and let it cool for an hour and it goes back to the 3 red flashing lights, with error code 0022. I really ddon't know what up with this xbox.
