ok my computers suddenly had a miraculous recovery. suddenly no mesage sayin registry hive corrupt. and its booting up with no problems. so im ready to flash again.
but...after the pc became corrupted i decided i cant b bothered to wait to go on xbox live, so i went on my xbox and clicked join xbox live. my xbox showed a message saying somin like 'preparing xbox for xbox live'. then it tried to test a connection but miserably failed. so it cant connect to xbox live cos of my method of connection.
so my question is will this affect me flashing the firmware of the dvd drive, and when i flash it will it affect anything on xbox live cos i prepared xbox live before flashing it.
There seems to be some backstory to this post that I havent read, but AFAIK, there should be no problem. I had my 360 for nearly a year before I flashed it, and have been on live many times, before and after flashing. Good luck!

this would have nothing with a flash. sounds like a network issue. this is also confusing.. so you already have a live membership? you don't need to join to do this. just hit recover gamertag. if not then check your connection to your router. also helps to open the live ports on your router.

ok ill put it in short..my xbox flashed failed cos pc decided to do one on me after opening a dodgy jf .29.
so got frustrated and decided to go on xbox live, since ive had my xbox for only a little while i get free one month membership. so i wanted to use it. first of all i dunno bout anyone else but i had to press accept when i first click on xbox live, my xbox asked me 'to connect to xbox live u hav to prepare ur xbox first' (somin like that). neway ipressed accept it then took me to a test xboxlive connection after it could not automatically connect.
my question is. when i pressed accept to my xbox asking me do i want to prepare my xbox with settings for xbox live, will it affect my flash n or after i do my flash will it affect any way i play on xbox live.

guess I give you the same answer. no. you do have a chace to get banned if you flashed your drive.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive

when you flash, the only two things it will affect are:
A: You will be able to play backups
B: there will be a chance of getting the console banned from xbox live, especially if you dont check all your copies with abgx360
