I got a great deal on a Wii 150 bucks but its been updated to 4.0u. I see that there is no way to downgrade unless past files have been installed (witch there not) so I was wondering if any mod chip out there would make it play backups and homebrew at 4.0?
You can still install a modchip inside and be able to play back up games that way but at the moment the homebrew channel cannot be installed on Version 4.0 firmware
So my wii automatically updated me to 4.0 when I went online, i already have the homebrew channel, and my world of goo wad still works, but I am not able to install any wad files, it says error 2011, is there anything I can do to play my backup wii games?

He in the same boat as me. All the wads I installed still work, but I too get the wad manager 2011 error. Just be thankful we had the homebrew channel installed already. In the end, it might be was the only thing that can allow us to install wads again.
