hi,i have just replaced a dvd drive in my sons xbox 360,the laser in the other one was gone.it is exactly the same one a philips benq.when i put the discs in it keeps telling me that(to play this disc,put it in an xbox 360)and thats as far as i can get,as it is in the xbox 360. any help would be great.. jhaye2x

Did you switch the PCB? it the circuit board on the bottom of the drive. There is a specific key that binds the drive to system which is contained in the PCB if you have the same drive you can just switch the PCB.

thanks for getting back,it is the same drive,although the pc board is different on the new one.it is a larger pc board.the problem as i see the 2 boards is that there are a lot of cables soldered.the ribbons i dont think will be a problem,it is just the soldered cables. any ideas . jhaye2x

well you will have to/get someone to spoof the old drive to the new one.
just to be sure the new one is specifically for an xbox right?
