I have a ms28 drive that the laser is dying on, i have a benq drive that keeps giving me e74 error. what I want to do is switch them out.

Is this what i need to do

get key from both drives.
put key from ms28 and put into firmware of benq
go back to jungleflasher and re-write new firmware for beng drive, adding ms28 key
then then go back to junglefasher and rewrite the firmware for beng drive.
Then rewrite it again so that I can update to iextreme 1.51.

One more question, when I update drive to iextreme 1.51, will i need to update as a beng drive or ms28.
just wanting to make sure before i go ahead and do it. thank you

Yes, get the key from both drives incase you ever want to try and revive that E74.

Easiest way to spoof and apply the new key is to load your original Samsung MS28 firmware into the source in Jungle Flasher. Do not autoload ix1.51 for Samsung. Go ahead and load BenQ ix1.51 into the target spot and click spoof. At this point you can flash the firmware.

Hey guys, a few additional questions:

1. does it matter if the Samsung is already modded? can I just extract the hacked FW and load it into the source and proceed as above?

2. will this process work for any brand of drive that is already modded (taking the place of the Samsung in this example)? - this is assuming the drive-to-be-spoofed ISN'T modded.

Many thanks~!

Yes. That will work.

Yes, if you wanted to replace the Samsung with a BenQ, load the original/custom firmware for Samsung in Source and original/custom firmware for BenQ into target.

Thanks a bunch leerage.

But what I meant to say in my second question was actually whether or not it would be the same process for spoofing any modded drive to any new drive. So modded Sammy, LiteOn, Hitachi, or Benq --> spoof to any new stock drive.

- I'm assuming it's the same.

Also, I'm not sure if you know this for fact, but is the concept of "spoofing" just taking the key from the old drive and splicing it into the firmware of the new one? Or rather, replacing the new drive's key with the old - even if they are different brands of drives?

Again, much appreciated.

The BenQ/Samsung/Lite-ON process would all be the same when spoofing. The Hitachi is a bit different.

The only drive you can't return to stock is the Lite-ON.
