Rune Factory Frontier intermittent disc unreadable

I've been playing the newly released Rune Factory Frontier (wtcrap with the 6 months delay to PAL territory). The iso burnt just fine and the game runs just fine. However, every so often during area transitions, the game hangs and goes pitch black. A message appears saying the disc could not be read. So what I have to do is I have to eject the disc a few times and push it back in before the game will resume.

Anyone had a similar problem? Any ideas?
