Hi guys, I recently (31st March 2009) did a new scan on my box, but after finding all the channels (and a few new ones) I noticed that ALL my movie channels and some others now say "Please Insert Smart Card". I tried other scans and the result is the same. I'm in the Meath (Ireland) Region and I'm on MMDS. The last firmware update was the latest one back in Jan/Feb 'ish. (?)
I could really do with some help because the girlfriend is on my case! Thanks.

Hmm. I have read the forums, and although people are recently having some problems, I didn't notice anyone recently talking about the stated message "Please Insert Smart Card". What I did notice however was your obviously copy and pasted message posted in allot of places. I'm sure you're hoping to attempt to create extra posts and move out of the "Junior Member" status.
Some real help would be great. Thanks.

devil everyone is having the same problem as he said have a read of the other threads some say insert smart card or scrambled ch either way ch is gone there is a thread for a list of ch affected

Hi,
I am having the same problem with the Movie/Sports and sone other channels, any help appreciated. I am in dublin is anyone else having the same problem. What have you done (if anything) to fix it?

Hi has anyone come up with an answer as to why my channels are disappearing one by one, I have now lost Hallmark and some of the Dicovery channels as well as all the movie/sport channels and MTV, they just say "please insert smart card" chen I click on them. I have tried doing the power scan to no avail. I am getting desperate now. Help please! Is anyone else in Dublin having this problem?

It is no use you asking for help because there is none available for your problem, simple answer is "it is due to the change of encryption that is taking place at the moment!!!" - Just read up above or use the search facility and all will be revealed, sorry for the negativity but it is now a different ball game and a wait and see affair, but never say never.

Ok Malci there is no need for the rudeness, I was simply enquiring if anyone else in the Dublin area is having the same problem or if I'm the only one. I'm not very technical and would have appreciated a geniuine answer, but never mind I will "wait and see" as you so elequently put it. Thanks a lot x x x

15/05/09 same question asked-answered,26/05/09 same question asked again without doing what was suggested ie look through the forum,i don't even think you even read the answer to your original question.

katso - AS karl has said - you don't seem to have read any answer to your own question/s, and as for the (rudeness)!!!! I fail to see anything of the sort in my reply. I did give you an answer as to your problem/question (change of encryption) which was a "as you put it" (a genuine answer) and advised you how to get more information, (use the search facility) that is normal practice, it is apparent that you are multiposting the same question, that is not normal practice. If you are offended by the "wait and see" comment, well tough because everyone else has to adhere by the wait and see approach.

the reason it says insert smart card is because it cannot decode the channels on that because they have moved up to higher encryption so slowly they will all vanish until there is nothing left but the free view ones

i think the hope of a fix is not going to happen now nearly 3 months now and not even a fix in site so i would say that it will be another box you will need but you can wait and see like the rest of the people are doing

no there is no new boxes the only two that is out working is the Kryptview and the itgage
1 is the easy to set up and use the other is a linux based box that is harder to set up and flash and prob double the price

Wow!!! - is that OP for real or what!!!!! same answers "encryption change" and "wait and see" approach and thanks proffered!!!, agh well - that's how it goes, but it's confusing somewhat.
