What type of DVD Movie do I need for backuping up (hotswapping) a game?

I'm going to try hotswapping, but I have no idea where to get a 'large DVD' to do it with. Is this a movie on a dual layer disk? Any help is appreciated.

What is your goal here to play backups? You need to flash your firmware, no other way I have heard of.
