I have searched this forum as well as others and I have found some close but not exactly what I'm looking for.

I have a laptop running Vista 64. Obviously, I cannot just buy the sata card mentioned but my computer does have an express card slot. Is there a sata card that I can use to mod my xbox. It has the BenQ drive in it.

Also, I have read in a few places that 64bit causes problems but in others that it does not. Anyone have experience/info on this?

I already have the firmware I need in order to flash my drive and am looking to mod it ASAP. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

This http://www.mininova.org/tor/1033837 book mentions a usb-to-sata but I think that only worked for certain xbox drives, you should check it out though.

I didn't use a 64bit OS when doing this but it tend to cause trouble in many other avenues I've tried, I have little to no experience with vista though.

I am pretty sure the sata card that is mentioned will work. You just need to run JF in XP mode.

port io is a 32bit driver and JF is a 32bit program. I tried with 64bit and had to use a 32bit os to get it to work.

jcalton88, which drive do you want to mod? I have a Lite-On, I flashed it myself with JF had a lot of trouble after attempting to erase with JF, but it was easy as pie with IPrep.

I have a BenQ drive that from people that have done mods said is the easiest but looking on forums it seems to be known as a hard one to mod.

Has anyone been able to burn games with 64 bit Vista? I have three computers and only one(a cheap laptop) has 32 bit Vista on it. Both other computers, a desktop and a laptop have 64 bit.

Does anyone else have any info on if an express sata card will work?

I really want to mod mine but I have been laid off for quite a while from work so I can't buy games right now and am stuck playing games I have beat.

I was talking if you had 64 bit. 32 bit OS's shouldn't be an issues.

who told you that? It was so easy. As long as you have the correct via sata card.

just get a copy of xp 32bit and create a partition and put it on. Then just use one of your desktops and it should be easy. You may have to get a via card but they are less than $20.
