Hi, I just recently picked apart my 360 and flashed the drive with iXtreme v. 1.51. Seemed too work great. Now I just burned my first game, downloaded a .dvd/.iso file. The burn failed on imgburn but completed without errors using clonecd. To my disappointment the disc is not read, it spins a little bit and then returns me to the "open tray" option. I really don't know where to go from here?
Some info on my system: xbox has v46 Hitachi drive, it's pal, it has the "new" interface update but has not been online since, my real games still work. The discs I'm using are called TDK "life on record" DVD+R DL 8x. My burner is a Samsung SH-S203. I'm using winXP sp3. Anything else you need to know plz ask.
No, I'm the only geek I know :P That would have helped, the dl I got was a scene release though so it should be fine. JungleFlasher found the new firmware when it checked the drive after flashing, so I kinda assumed it worked.
EDIT: After using Xdvdmulleter Beta 10.2 on the image I get one error.
Layer 1 video area is EMPTY.(error)
and it says it is not compatible with iXtreme, however I think it's checking against an older version of iXtreme (1.2). My version (1.51) has this note: "New partition sizes and video data will be automatically supported and will be allowed to boot."
EDIT2: 1.3 changed to 1.2
EDIT3: I also found this in another forum
Checking PFI
PFI CRC = 2A4CCBD3
PFI matches known data (3rd wave - requires iXtreme v1.51 or later)
Video partition found
Video CRC = 0E58FB9D (V0 = CF942E7B, V1 = 4809B37A)
Video partition matches known data (3rd wave - requires iXtreme v1.51 or later)
this check was done on the same image I have and indicate it should be working with my firmware. Leaves me thinking I must have messed up when flashing, knew I shouldn't have put it back together...
Final EDIT (I promise): I just went trough the "idiots guide" and noticed this step: "6) In the lower-right hand corner where it says "Settings", make sure the write speed is set to 2.4X" Is that extremely important? I just burned it at max (about 8x).
use verbatims dvd dl their a little pricy but alot cheaper than an xbox 360 game. i had the same problem and i switched to these burned over 50 games not one bad backup yet

I hope you are running your games through abgx360 first!!! If you don't, you'll ban your box. Plus it finds issues with your games and fixes them sometimes.
Most hitachi's I have flashed have had to be calibrated to work well with backups. Its pretty easy just look for POT calibration. Plus better media is better on the laser.
As long as it works, I'm not gonna put anymore work inn to it. If it gets bricked, whatever. I'm sick of 360 anyway, have every other gaming platform on the planet anyway except ps3 and at least that has blu-ray. So guess I'll get one of those if 360 goes belly up. I wouldn't pick it apart if I still actually cared.
