I bought the map packs for my box and then my hard drive died. Do I have to pay for these again or do some torrent sites offer a download? Just curious, I did pay, so why pay again?

You don't have to repay. You just redownload them.

So basically what you're saying is you want to download it and you've never paid for it. Or you didn't understand what he said, you can re-download it for free as many times as you want once you pay for it just go to where you bought it and instead of "buy" it'll say "download again"

Even if you do find it on a torrent, it wont be any use because it wont be associated with your gamertag or console.

Actually I did pay for it. I was just curious since you can download games that way. Oh, and everyone on this site owns all the games they have. That's why it's so popular....duh!

Did you even read the OP's first sentence?

Ummmmm that's why I explained to him how to do it properly? YOU didn't read into it, he obviously didn't even bother looking OR didn't actually buy it. Otherwise he would have seen the "download again" option.

bhetrick's explanation was enough. I'm sure what gameover9 was referring to about the torrents is for someone to download, extract the map packs from the image of their hard drive, and post it onto a torrent site for other people to download, inject into their image and restore that back to their hard drive. Of course that wouldn't be live friendly obviously as YOU pointed out. It was done with the DLC content for GTA 4 so I don't see anything different here. Yes the OP didn't understand at first, you just simply download again, since your downloaded content is linked to your Live gamertag.

So yes, I did read. He did obviously pay since he said it 3 times, you failed to read that though. And yes, he did fail to see "download again", as you stated.
