Once you get back into windows, save multiple copies of your original bin. Should be named with OFW or something similar.

you need a Dosflash and Firmtool tutorial becasue Iprep is a windows gui that compiles these apps and prepares a removeable media to run them in dos. In addition to that you should try JF 1.55 and be done with that. The link to all these tuts can be found by using the search box. Goodluck!

Make sure you have all your CD/DVD drives unplugged. You might have read the firmware off of the your DVD drive. All 360 drives firmware are 256kb. But like bd911 said, you should give Jungle Flasher a shot. I used to use iPrep when I first modded and didn't know any better. Jungle Flasher has made things so much more easier and quicker. I can't really give you help about iPrep as I haven't used it in so long, but I can give you help with Jungle Flasher.

Jungle Flasher is just a Windows GUI based flashing program. Saves you from unplugging all your drives and booting to iPrep. A dual layer burner is only required if you are burning games.

What type of SATA chipset are you using? If you don't know, a good program to tell is CPU ID. http://www.cpuid.com/ Click mainboard tab and look at the southbridge chipset.

Jungle Flasher only requires the PortIO driver, which is included with Jungle Flasher.

With the VIA it is wise not to install the drivers to prevent any type of freezing. If you already have the drivers installed, go to the device manager and disable the VIA card, then navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers and remove the viamraid.sys file. I would remove the file and keep it in a different location (just as long as it isn't in the drivers folder). Go back to device manager and enable the VIA card and it should have the yellow exclamation mark next to it.

Install the PortIO driver and shutdown the computer. Connect your XBOX 360 drive and power back on the computer. Open up JF and go to the DVDkey tab, tick the box that says VIA only. In the right hand side you should see Drive Properties, hopefully it should be seeing your drive, if not, go to the drop down list and check each one to see if the drive is showing up.

Under I/O port. Switch those until you see the drive. What operating system are you using.

Yes, the 360 drive needs to have power to it and the sata cable from your computer connected to the drive. Go ahead and leave the driver there. But your device manager is located by right clicking my computer, click properties, hardware tab, click device manager.

Shut down your computer and connect the sata cable from your computer to the 360 drive. Turn on your computer and turn on the 360 right when you turn your computer. Load up JF and check the drive properties, you can either look under the DVDkey tab or the MTK flash tab. Check all ports.

Go ahead and disable the card, remove the viamraid.sys, re-enable the card and give it a go again.

I'm not for sure why JF keeps freezing for you. I know you are running XP but is it 64-bit?
