also i bought this 360 flashed so i dont know what firmaware is on it but i do know that the chroncals of ridick did not work on my 360 checked it through abgx and it is reading in there so i am assuming that the firmware is 1.4 or 1.5 i need to know if there is anything special i need to do before i jump the firmware up to 1.51 and as i did not do the first update do i need a original key or anything like that

how do i know which way to unlock the drive i dont know which firmware i have on it already.

With drives below 1.5 or Stock firmware, you can click BenQ unlock. If that works it will display the flash chip properties and you can read the firmware at that point. Vendor mode for a BenQ is 0x73.

If that doesn't work, click Device ID, it will prompt you to power cycle. When you see the dots go across the screen, unplug the power and plug it back into the 360 drive. Should return 0x73 status.

thanks for that also the sata card do they sell them at best but i copy pasted the VIA 6421x PCI S-ATA and it brought up some cards but i dont know if they are the right ones or not

is it possible to use a stock cpu sata instead of 6421 sata and where in device manager would i look and for what would i look for?

Some onboard SATAs work like Nforce. Mine is ICH7 but I haven't had much luck with it.
