I used to get a dirtydisc error until I got a new laser.
When I got the new laser I forgot to desolder it and I turned my xbox on. After that the disc would spin for a split second and get open tray.
So I figured I fryed my pcb. I flashed a diffrent pcb and now it spins and stops for a split second and spins again and hasent stopped for 30 min but I still get open tray.
What could be the problem. It sounds like It reads but the xbox dosent pick it up could I not of flashed this pcb rite its a ms28 flashed with iprep. I got the done writing message and C/
The laser is new all motors work.. are there any adjustments that I might have screwed up durring laser replace ment...
before replacing new laser i opened the drive and took it apart at least 10 x and it always worked the same
after new laser put in with antistatic solder i got open tray no matter what laser i used and i had a old ms28 so i mixed the motors around always got open tray
My 360, ms25 drive, used to get a dirty disc error while playing ...little by little it got to the point that I couldn't play 15 min without getting this error...
I had a old ms28 drive from a old xbox that was given to me
I switched around all the parts keeping the same pcb in there and nothing changed this
I got a new laser.... replaced it...
Now.. when I replaced it, I forgot to desolder it.... and turned the 360 on....now all of a sudden I got a open tray error...
I put the original laser in it that used to work for 20 min and same thing... open tray.... but now, the laser would spin for a split second and stop..
so I tried the spare laser I had and same thing... spin stop .. open tray...
Now I'm thinking i fry ed the pcb when I forgot to desolder ... so what I did was flash the pcb from my old drive(ms28) and put that in...
Now the disc spins..stops.spins and keeps spinning, but I get a open tray error.. Ive had it spinning up to 20 min with open tray...
so for shits and giggles i put the orig pcb...and it spins stops, and open tray, wont keep spinning..
What could I have screwed up.. the black things where it holds the rails down are straight ,everything seems good... before I replaced the laser with a new one ,id switch parts around from my spare drive ,and it worked for a while and got dirty disc....Had it apart and put together over 10 times and always worked for a while..
after i put the new laser with the soldered antistatic still in it I got open tray, no matter what I switch around.
Ive switched all motors and lasers around.. ribbons... I switched around the white piece that holds the laser to the motor that moves the laser...
I know I flashed it good because it used to read ms28 on jungle flasher now it reads ms25... I also had someone guide me thru it and check the files to see if they are good.
I know I should get a new drive, but I figured id ask some people who can figure it out and tell me whats wrong.
