USB Loader Crashes

Hi Guys,
Are any of you guys who run the USB Loader 1.1 finding any grames crash on you?
Ive dumped 7 origional games on my hard drive to test with and all run like a dream but so far 2 of them crash all the time, same 2 games all the time?
I thought it was the game image on the USB drive so I dumped it back to the PC and burned it to disc and the disc runs fine without a glitch..
So I delete the games on the USB drive and add them again from the origional and still the same...
Don Kings Boxing and Rapalas Fishing Frenzy freeze during game play at any point..

Try ripping them to the HDD using the backup copy.
I don't think I have either of those games on my USB device but will check later and post results if I have them.

Hi,
On runing the back up copys in wii gators loader Fishing Frenzy freezes at randon spots, it ran for about 30 mins at longest.
Don kings boxing seems to run ok from a back up dvd but freezes on usb loader 1.1
All other games seem perfect to date, the kids have been hammering it 24/7 nearly so they are getting a good run and these 2 games are a problem.
The origionals of both play fine in the default wii game loader.
I do know that one of my set up files was a little older as I used cIOS36_rev8 instead of the newer cIOS36_rev9 that is now available to me and Im wondering if this could affect?

Are you sure you don't have cIOS36_rev9? I thought you had to have that installed to even use the USB Loader. In anycase your supposed to be running the USB Loader 1.1 with cIOS36_rev9. This could be the issue. I would recommend updating to the cIOS36_rev9 cIOS.
You can go HERE and download the file available from this guide.
Extract the file and then copy the cIOS36_rev9 folder inside the apps folder to the apps folder on your SD Card (thats if you have the HBC installed) then just run the application from the HBC to update to latest cIOS36_rev9.

Hi
Yes at the moment when I go into the options menu in homebrew iys bersion 8 on the button and when I instlled it last week I was woried as the tutorial said 9 but id downloaded the files from the link provided and its all been fine barring these 2 games.
At the time fibre said to me that the rev 9 was fmore for usb support and as what i was gdoing was for the backup loader it would be ok..
I will give rev_9 a run once I get the kids off and see what happens.

not sure if you can run the ver8 using usb loader, thought you updated to ver9? there's NO way you can tell the difference between rev 9 and rev8 just by looking on the gamma loader 249.

The guide never had rev8 with the USB Loader. When I updated the guide to include the USB Loader I updated it to rev9 at that point.
So you must have read something wrong.
If the files included the USB Loader when you followed the guide then you have cIOS36_rev9 installed.
I updated the cIOS to cIOS36_rev9 and included the USB Loader on the April 1st.

Thats odd eh..
Oh well no harm done, I will say when I downloaded them the tutorial was not as it is now with all the images instead of text..
But I have the new file now an will run it later,

I had the updated files uploaded since April 1st and updated the guide with images yesterday. So as I said before. If you had the USB Loader included with the files you downloaded from my guide then you have cIOS36_rev9 installed.
I riped Rapalas Fishing Frenzy to my HDD. Played it for about 20 minutes with no issue.

I ran cIOS36_rev9 with no errors after first removing the old back up loader and re adding the newer one.. all seems well.
But this games still crashing.. The origional im ripping it from is brand new as is the usb drive its going on and the other games are fine..
The kids had it running fror an hour earlier they said but thie first run after the rip laste under 5 mins and just freezes
Is there anything else it could be that would cause a crash? The origional runs fine...Im going to try and burn a new back up from the rip and see how it gets on loading in the backup loader.

Just tried it again there and notices that when it happens the hard drive LED power light goes to amber and red each time it crashes..
Also when your in the bit where you change tackle and baits the pictures of the lures etc are missing and it can crash in there..
Dunno if that gives an indicator as to a porblem?

Have you tried running on a another HDD just to make sure not a bad sector issue? . Another issue is HDD get HOT so it causes to freeze(stop) happens to me all the time when i used my HDD for watching movies using my DVD/DIVX player with USB port.
By the way i found a nice USB loader channel which removes all those add and remove games (admin feature) just for security all they can do is play games.

Sounds interesting Fibre..
I did wonder about the HDD so Ive formatted it again using the GUI this time and am loading the games back on to see if there is any change...
Whats this new USB loader you have found? will it run alongside my USB loader 1.1 and Usb Loader channel I added or do I remove the channel and add this new one?
Sounds good for the kid so they cant delete by mistake.

You can have the admin and child protect at the same time. All i have to do is move all my stuff in the last page (pressing A and B at the same time) on the wii channel and just put all game loader next to the disk channel.

Well after a reformat and a new dump of the fishing game it looked good for 40 mins then the hard drive light sticks orange and the games frozen..
Perhaps I will have to try a new hard drive but would certain game have an affect like this on certain drives?
Larry ran the fishing game without any bother? my other games seem fine?
Wierd..
I will work on a new drive and see how it goes..

hi there ive just been reading up on all this and would like to know if any of u could give me a link for the usb loader and when i dump a game using the dvd dumper on my wii do i just burn it or do i have to pacth it before i can play it with the twilight haclk thanks in advance djc01

You can get the new updated USB 1.1s channels HERE.
It has 1 that has all options and has 1 that only has play game options (add/remove option is taken out). As well it fixes issues with Imported games and forcing region wrong. It also shows more games in the list at a time.
I boot the normal USB Loader 1.1 via HBC to add and remove games. Then have the channel that only lets you play the games in the Wii system menu.

I resolved my issue..
I was using an external laptop drive with one of those usb cables with the twin ends to use as a power and data usb cable.. It would not recognise if I just used one of the leads i had to use both as with the laptop...
Anyways, I also have a 400gig external packard bell usb drive that takes its own power.. It was a real pain backing it up to try but worth it as all our games now run without a glitch..

Just a heads up on an alternative way to get the games to the USB drive. WBFS Manager 2.0 is a nice GUI that lets you transfer the games via PC (Vista compatible). I have been riping my games to the PC then using that to transfer over to the USB drive. To me adding the games to USB device this way seems more reliable then using the Wii DVD Drive.
The transfer rates are pretty quick as well. If you want to try it out go HERE.
