Hey all, i got my 4gb usb stick working with the usb loader now
yeah!!!! but i am wanting to get a 320gb usb hdd.
so i just wanted to know if anybody's done a guide to setup
a new usb hdd to work with the usb loader?
from the format and partition to what files are needed to be able to unplug from the wii and burn the rips to a disc on the pc.
thankyou and sorry if someone's already done a guide.
Thanks for the reply fiber, but my question is, when i get the hdd
do i just plug it into the wiiusb port and format or do i have to partition the drive as well so i can burn the images to disk from the pc.
thanks again for your reply
Hi,
When I done this using USB loader the first time if your drive is not formatted the USB loader 1.1 will offer to format the drive for you and it does it in a flash.. well it did my 100gig laptop drive.
Once you do that you can then add and remove games from the drive.
The tutorial thread fibre posted to has a good bit of reading so if you read the whole thread you will see what some others experienced too but I found it pretty straight forward.

Yes you just plug your HDD if is compatible, you can partition your HDD and the Wii usb loader will detect the partition, but you have to format your HDD to FAT32, you can transfer between the PC and the Wii just by moving the cables, if you look on the Q @ A, it mentioned there a GUI that you can used, the tool is for NTFS/Fat32 to WBFS which is the format the wii used. I prefer to have all my backup in the WBFS since it removes all fillers and save some space.
I have used a Child proof as a USB loader channel which my kid uses, it removes those format HDD and add games.
For you to burn the image/ISO you have to transfer back from Wii to PC, it will put all the fillers (dumb data) usign the tool converter. like Wii sports will be .360mb in WBFS when transfered to Pc it will be 4.3 gig.
try to read the guide posted specially the Q and A.
