No if it worked before it should work again,is this the bin file you downloaded? http://www.4shared.com/file/93874977/70b...w_19032009.html you could try and redownload it.

dont worry i wont take offence,i'm glad of any suggestions and would love at this stage for it to be something as simple as the batteries but alas no i have them in and i double press the red button then the stand by as per instructions and the box goes from displaying 0000 to dot running across the bottem then to on and back to oooo and displayed on the pc is downloading is not requested or file size zero depending on which port i'm on, i've been trying them all.

Can i just suggest that you start the download with the box powered off and then turn the box on.

Is this the procedure you are following: (courtesy of Fergus!)

Ok here is the correct procedure for putting the firmware on to the Arnet and should only be done this way and no other no matter what you have read else where

DO NOT HAVE YOUR BOX PLUGGED IN FOR THIS WHEN YOU ARE SETTING YOUR DOWNLOAD UP FIRST

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SET THE LOADER TO THE CORRECT COM PORT

1 get your loader double click it another box will appear

2 click on download another box will appear

3 click on browse and find the firmware and tell it to open

4 click on download then plug in the Arnet and wait for it to download

5 you will see on the front of the box display it going aroung in a square

6 then when it is finished you will see it going faster wait till the box reboots itself before you stop anything and then you can disconnect all the cables

7 DO NOT PRESS RED RED AS THIS IS NOT TO BE USED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES AS ALL THIS DOES IS CONFUSE THE BOX

8 then do a factory reset then go to auto put your provider in leave the network alone

9 press the green button if you are on N** you will get only 2 options after it has gone thru the process you select legecy not upc ok then press ok and it will scan away for the freq you need to be patient as this will take a bit of time

Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you know what for if you know who might hear you, you know what youll get. Youll be sent off to you know where for you would not know how long. Maybe I could search through the threads so you dont have to ??

similar story , have new kryptview dublin. cant load eamos latest bin file. the stb editor says a download was not requested, even though the tv says its waiting on a code update. i did an autoscan and had basic stations.and had had settled on port three. i did with this with the box on and and off.but both times it refused to down load the bin file. i am using a usb port to a p232 connection as my laptop only has a usb connection. so i just cant down anything into the devise and i had this trouble with my old box also. i am beginning to wonder shoud i check the cable.

hi squeeky. the answer is it does work i had to get an adaptor in peats for 20 euro. got a penny change. (32 euro in maplins) my lap top only has a usb. i presume you can bring the cable that can connect to your box to the shop.you will get a cable with a usb on one end and a nine pin plug on the other that fits into the cable you have.

I used a usb adaptor and followed SG8's instructions and it worked fine. You just need to make sure you select the correct usb port from your pc in the code sending window of the loader.
