ripping 360 games to iso

hi guys i have a fujitsu siemens laptop with a dual layer disk drive. when i spoke to f.s they said i could burn 360 games. but as its a laptop i can not do a hot swap. what programme do i need to do this can some one help please.

wait for iextreme 1.6 and you'll be able to from the 360. As far as I know , you don't with that drive.

either that or buy a kreon flashed PC-dvd-rom. you can then put it in an external enclosure or buy it in one, and be able to copy the games to your laptop. otherwise do as gamerover stated and wait until 1.6 is released, but then again, you will have to remove your 360's dvd drive everytime you need/want to copy a game.

i'd follow wabashman's advice. spend the $40 on ebay to buy one of the kreon drives (samsung sh-d162c, 163a, 163b, etc...) it's totally and completely worth it. then all you need is Xbox Backup Creator or another ripping program to rip a backup in under 13 minutes.

8-9 minutes for me. but then it takes 40 minutes to burn it since all Sam's Club has is 50 packs of verbs maxed at 2.4x. but you cant complain when they are only 1.20 per disc.

I understand that 1.6 will allow ripping from the 360, but how exactly will it work? Does there need to be anything done with the PC? Just not quite understanding the process from ripping on the 360 to playing a ripped/copied game.

take the drive out of the 360. hook it up to the pc via sata cable and via chipset PCI card. start up XBC, and rip the game just as you would with a kreon flashed samsung drive. so it would prove to be easier just to buy the kreon drive for the PC so you are not constantly taking apart your 360 to rip games.
either that or maybe buying the blaster (if they can still be used with the lite-ons) as it would allow you to rip the games without taking the drive out of the console i think.

Ah, I see... thanks! I'll keep my eyes open for "tools" to allow an easier connection to the PC. I'd like to avoid dismantling it every time. May look at the kreon drives...

yea, you might as well buy the kreon drive unless you have a spare 360 drive setting around.

Or if they are cheaper, wait for 1.6 and buy a Xbox 360 drive off ebay (btw. ebay is the only chance of getting one of the kreon drives due to them not being produced anymore).
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

ehh... that's not entirely true. :)
I've already got one lined up, although I suppose my supplier may have gotten his off ebay, but he is apparently getting a few

Could anyone inform me of where I can buy an enclosure for a Kreon flashed drive? I have a drive, I just have no idea as to what enclosure I should be hunting for.
