How do I flash a Hitachi drive without knowing firmware

I have an Xbox 360 that has been flashed already. I do not know what firmware the drive has been flashed with nor do I have the original firmware. I am also new to this. Does someone please have detailed instructions or a tutorial on how to tell which firmware version I am running, how to export the drive key, restore to the original firmware version (without presently having a copy), flashing with newest IXtreme firmware and resoring the drive key? I apologize and realize this is a noob question. Your help is greatly appreciated.

You just restore, then flash the new FW. It doesn't matter with hitachi's if you have your orig.bin file but keep it safe just in case. Once you restore, just dump. There's your orig.bin file.
