I have been trying to get some new games i've got burnt onto DVD to work on my xbox. the burning process is fine using Img burn. once they are burnt though when i put them into my xbox it only recognizes them as DVDs and won't got past the xbox title screen, any help to why this may be?

Most Likely its because your DVDdrive isnt flashed with iXetreme 1.51, it needs to be to play more and more newer games because of some newer third wave i believe. Just re-mod your drive using iXetreme 1.51 and you should be all set.

What speed are you burning the games at? Make sure they are burned at 2.4x ALWAYS!

BS.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Or you can do that, if you really don't care for your games lasting that long... Seriously, when they first flashed the 360 it was always 2.4x, and then people would say 4x, now 6x, just pushing the limit.

If you want your games to last, use Verbatim (not Memorex... they won't last long), and burn at 2.4x. I mean seriously, can you not wait 40min for a disc to burn. I mean you're probably not paying for the game in reality anyways...

i have a question for all the memorex users, do you install the games into your hard drive for less stress on the laser? Is it even suggested to install your backups into your hard drive? Thanks for any relies

I use Verb's @ 6x and never had a bad disc. I also install EVERY game to the hard drive before I play it through, beat it and delete it. COD4 and COD: W@W stay installed for online multiplayer. If your ganna flash your drive i would advise EVERYONE to spend $50 on ebay and get a 120gb bevs drive to install the games you play the most. Backups are REALLY hard on the laser.

I burn at 8x, never had a bad disk for speed reasons (got one for burning with Xbox Backup Creator and another two because I didn't know about layer break and just burned the isos with nero). Some of the media out (Verbatim AZO) doesn't even support burning at 2.4x any more. So only burning at 2.4x is BS, sometimes even gives you errors. Find the speed that works best for you with your computer and stick with that speed.
