Everything is now working awesome with running a flash drive through the usb.
Is it possable that if i have a 1tb harddrive is there anyway i can split the drive to keep my information i already have roughly 640 gb then use the remaining specifically for the wii?? and if it is possable can someone tell me how thank you very much

Yes. You will need to parition the drive. One with WBFS and the other with NTFS. You would have to start the drive from scratch first. Back it up if there is data there and use computer management to delete the parition. Then create a new primary parition with 640gig and format to NTFS. Leave the other unallocated and put it in the wii and format the remainder. Should work.

You can try and use parition magic to reparition the drive which would work or download a copy of gparted (free). If you haven't used either before, you're out of luck.

His HDD is virgin most likely it is in FAT32 which is how external HDD are ship or sold. Wii cannot partition, it FORMATS the HDD to WBFS using USB loader.
your suggestion complicates him more coz he don't even know how to split/partition his HDD or even move his file..dont even care his data all he wan't is to used the spare space for Wii(sorry dude)

HERE is a guide on how to make it dual NTFS (it says NTSC but they mean NTFS) and WBFS. This will keep your data intact that you already have on the drive.

i'm not experienced at all as far as partions go my external drive i have 640 used roguhly 290 gigs i can use i will attempt to go ahead and use partition magic i hope all will go well

warning: partition magic not an easy to used not even compatible to most USB drive. it's been years that there no new development. it might delete you 640gig data.

used acronis suite or Gparted, last update for PTmagic was 2003.

I suggested Gparted. Problem is, if you don't have experience with any of these tools, you could jack things up. I have use parition magic on several usb drives.
