Ok, so im trying to flash my 360 and have bought a VIA 6421 SATA pci controller card. The are 2 spare slots on the motherboard and have tried both. Whenever I run the setup I get a message "can't find the correct hardware................" or words to that effect. Am I connecting it to the right place?

I think he's refering to the 2 PCI slots that are free on his motherboard.

Get the latest drivers from viaarena.com
Try those.

motherboard sata to internal hard drive (i.e. windows).

pci sata to xbox dvd drive.

make sure they are both in the "zero" position, that is, the first sata port on each board.

thanks for the replies guys. I tried that site, and after downloading the driver I got the same message. I'll tell you exactly what I did because clearly i have no idea what I'm doing here!

I bought this card http://pic1.ebid.net/upload_big/6/3/0/1210871208-21340-0.jpg

plugged one end into the pci slot, plugged the lead into one end of the sata card and the other into a slot that looks like the blue things here: http://www.hardwarezone.com/img/data/art.../p6ngm_sata.jpg

ran the driver, then got the message. what am i doing wrong?
