Dark Playback on PS3?

Just wondering if there's a fix for viewing AVI files on the PS3 that are dark. Some of my AVI files are so dark that they are nearly unwatchable but when viewed on my PC they're fine, also sometimes the playback flicks between dark and bright anyone know what the problem is and is there a solution to the matter?

Loose cable?

Do you have another input on your TV you can try maybe?
