If you guys could be so kind to link me a step by step guide for the easiest way to flash a benq drive that would be awesome.
I am a total noob at this subject, so i need to know what to do from complete scratch.
I dont mind which flashing tools you guys suggest, just whichever one is safest and easiest to use (I really dont want to brick my elite).
Thanks in advance.

1. google for xbins auto downloader and get that
2. run it and find iPrep and the latest firmware for it ( iExtreme 1.51)
3. Run iPrep and load in the firmware you downloaded (you only need to load in BenQ firmware you can delete everything out of the Samsung option.)
4. Insert your flash drive now and iPrep should detect it and ask if you want to use that drive, select yes. (make sure you have nothing you want to keep on the flash drive, this process will delete everything off of it.)
5. Now select your Via card under the SATA Controller options.
6. In the bottom right corner make sure format/make device bootable is checked and include batch files is checked.
7. Then hit start and it should succesfully ready your flash drive.
8. Now shut down your computer and connect your BenQ drive to the MAIN port on your VIA card using a SATA cord (usualy the internall one)(leave the power cord connected between the 360 motherboard and your BenQ drive.)
9. Now power on your 360 (make sure you have your a/v cables connected to it).
10. Now power on your computer and boot to the flash drive and follow the on-screen instructions, if you need more help let me know).
Also if your drive isn't detected the first time give it two more tries and try different SATA ports on the VIA card.

Ok so yes the xBox does but its a tiny one that wont be anywhere near long enough so i suggest unplugging the SATA cord out of your hard drive and into your 360 drive, or pick one up at any PC store, there about a dollar

You can't do this if the only hard drive used is SATA. You need to get the 6421 via card before doing anything. Newegg has it for $15.00, then use jungle flasher instead of iprep. There is tons of guides on here. Just use the search

I dont think you need a VIA card for BenQ drives i think you just need that for the other 3.

If the onboard SATA isn't compatible, you NEED a VIA 6421 card and you will be able to flash all 4 drive types.

It was probably a NFORCE chipset then or you just got lucky. The via 6421 works everytime which is why it's recommended. People always complain that stuff doesn't work on the other chipsets, but none do on this one.

not if you do it when hes at work or taking a shower. heck, it only takes 10 minutes to take the thing apart, flash it, and put it back together, especially a benq.
Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME
