Okay guys heres another question that i need help with......... (i wont mention sites). I have my original copy of MadWorld that i want to make a backup copy of. I have 2 options......Option 1 = DvdDumper and let my wii run for 6 hours or option 2 = download it from the internet. I have already dumped wii games over my wifi but it takes too long and i dont want to damage the laser on my wii so i decided to try this whole internet downloading thing. I have the proper torents etc and i was able to download madworld. But it downloaded as a folder......When i open that folder i have several files that say example mw_ntsc.r00, mw_ntsc.r01, mw_ntsc.r02 etc they go all the way up to mw_ntsc.r36 but the very last file inside the folder says mw_ntsc.rar Now my question is how do i get these files on my dvd? Do i extract the rar file or what do i do next? Thanks Guys!!

Im new, so bear with me!

there's option c: usb loader and wbfs manager 2.0

but for the rar files, download winrar, and extract the r01 file.

thanks for your quick reply cee43!! But i only have one rar file and that is the very last one inside the folder (mw_ntsc.rar), unless i am a total idiot and all the files in the folder are .rar files? Also why out of the 36 files inside the folder do i only need to extract file mw_ntsc.r01? One last question.......Can i use winzip to extract? i dont have winrar. I have used winzip in the past to extract. Thanks again~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>>!!!

winzip won't work. besides, you want to use winrar as the main compression software; has higher compatability with compressed files. it's free, although after 40 days, you get a nag screen. doesn't stop it from working though.

if there's only one rar file, open it. it may contain the iso.

i noticed that that several of the rar files have the iso file. Does this make sense? Im confussed. I extracted the file onto my desktop using winrar and its 4.37 gigs!! I burned it to a verbatim dvd-r. Im going to test it after dinner. but im still kinda lost on why there are several rar files that have the iso in it?

When downloading torrents, the file is routinely divided into sections. They all really make only one rar file, that contains the iso, but it's divided into sections. Winrar joins them back together and extracts the iso all at once. When I'm extracting, I just open winrar, and navigate to the directory that contains all the files. I use ctrl-A to select all, and then "test" or "extract". Just the way rar-ed files work.

It is common practice to have multiple RAR parts on a torrent.

1) It is easier to file transfer over the Internet.

2) There is always a possibility that the file could become corrupt when downloading it.

If the ISO is 4.37GB and not split into parts and becomes corrupt then you will need to redownload the whole 4.37GB. If you have the 4.37 ISO split into parts lets say (500MB each) and a part gets corrupted during downloading then all you will need to do is redownload that 500MB part instead of the full 4.37GB.

Yes as a downloader you must learn teh ways of the the winrar grasshopper
Winrar is the downloaders best friend, it was always split into smaller chunks so pioneering dialuppers could download. It is freaky but just click on the one rar file that has no number it will open winrar and it will preview what it looks like when downloaded. A smart boy will open the preview iso folder see the preview iso file and just drag and drop it onto desktop
it will unrar (unzip) for up to 20 minutes
download imgburn (also free) while waiting and set up
It will associate iso files when setting up.
That way when you click on that iso on desktop it will auto start imgburn, stick good media in burner and 20 minutes later you will be playing
PS I used sd card dumper with an 2g sd card on an original and it only took 40 minutes go to wo
