Ok quick run down on what I have Wii 3.1 with wiikey, and installed homebrew channel and working.
Installed all needed things for USBHD loader, got it working perfectly.
But many wiiWare games just reboot when I try to load them, I assume that's because the wii is still at 3.1
I don't need step by step help,
just a general idea of what I need to do to get this upgraded to a higher version with out breaking what I already have, and not going 4.0.
I assume this will fix my wiiWare problem.
Since I can't just update the wii on the internet hence 4.0 I assume there's a way I can upgrade in the HB sceene?
They may be out of region wads, or the wii could need updating. Try freethewads like fiber suggested. If they still don't work then use a recent game from your wii's home region (animal crossing contains 3.3 and sonic and the black knight has 3.4) to update.
Well I guess I will have to go rent Animal Crossing.
I downloaded freethewads and ran it on my DrMario wad and it said it was already FREE.
Yet when I try to run it it just reboots the Wii
I have downloaded 3 different copies from various places and they all do the same thing?
Penguin.....So your saying that with Sonic & The Black Knight game i can update a wii that is on 3.2 to 3.4 or 3.3? Does it have to be the original or can i use a backup copy of the game? Also will madworld work or only sonic?
If you're using the backup loader, booting an original game through gecko OS, have a modchip that prevents updates or are using a brickblocked backup copy of the game then the update will not run.
Hey Penguin that is very interesting. I had no idea that i could get 3.4 using just a video game. That info really helps as i only know how to mod wiis on 3.4 and my brother has a wii with 3.2 that i havent been able to mod because i dont know how to do 3.2 But off to the video game store we go today to get madworld so i can update his wii to 3.4 so i can mod it!
