I recently bought a wiikey, and since I'm not that good at soldering, I bought it presoldered to a wiikey

So after installing the wiikey I figured that the first thing I should do is upgrade my wiikey to the latest firmware version. After some troubles I managed to install the firmware.

I downloaded a DVD5 version of SSBB off the internet, and I burned it with imgburn to both a Maxell DVD+RW and a sony DVD-R each time with a different burner.

After inserting the disk however my wii jumps to a black screen with the following error:

"an error has occurred. Press eject button and remove the disc, then turn the Wii Console off and refer to the wii operating manual"

After looking around on the internet I found something about a config disk; so I downloaded the latest version from wiikey.cn. But when I press start, my wii gives me the exact same error.

So after that I downloaded a bottdisk together with the 1.3 config file. And that worked perfectly. However, this doesn't chage anything; both ther 1.4 cfg file and SSBB still give the same error.

Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you in advance

p.s. sorry if my english is crappy; I'm dutch
Andr

Did you burn the game at 1x using ImgBurn?

Is it just this game or does this problem occur with all the games you have burned to DVD?

You could try downloading the dual layer version of this game and using the layer break to see if its the actual ISO image.

Also its better to use DVD-R and many people on this forum recommend using Verbatim DVD-R :)

I used the minimum speed on the sony DVD-R one (2X)

I haven't been able to try another game yet, cause downloading is going really slow atm

And yeah I'm getting some verbatim DVD-R asap, but I just think its weird that the bootloader and firmware disks work, but my config and SSBB don't

I would try another game that is the same region as your wii to elimate if its the ISO you have downloaded or not.

Like I said, I updated to the latest firmware version (1.9s) but still the 1.4 config disc doesn't work (an error has occurred...)

If you can use config disc v1.3, but not v1.4, then it sounds like you have a bad 1.4 burn. Did you retry to burn this disc? Also, have you tried any other game beside SSBB?

I asked because I wonder why your not using the 1.9s config disc then?

I would burn at 4x with either nero or imgburn

Oh sorry I thought 1.4 and 1.9s were the same. No I tried to run the 1.9s config file from the site.

Also, I did manage to start another game I downloaded, which made me very happy. It probably has something to do with the .iso then. I'm going to download the dvd9 version of SSBB and see if that works
