Okay, I guess I should have mentioned that xp won't let me parition the SD card, so how can I load the game once the loader formats it? This is why I thought a channel would be easier.

Windows does not allow you to create multiple partitions on a removable device. only one partition (the primary) on removable devices.

so how can I boot the SD loader from homebrew? I might have found a channel for it, but what has everyone else done to boot this app?

You can get the SD/USB Loader 1.4 WAD channel HERE.

Just install the WAD with WAD Manager and it will be in the Wii menu. Now you can format the SD Card WBFS and boot the Loader in Wii menu.

OK ~ Here's the deal. In order to load an .ISO file from a mass storage device or SD/SDHC via USB or SDslot you need to FORMAT your media using this application: (WBFS Manager 2.2.2) in other words you cannot play a Wii ISO using the windows FAT you need to format your media to WBFS... ~ but before you can load any .ISO you will need to install a cISO wad. Google this: (ind-usbsdloader1_4) <-- download. Once you have downloaded, install the custom cISO file and make an app folder for SDloader.dol ~ it's all real easy.. took me about 15mins.

For a quick/brief explanation watch this episode of Hak5, Darren explains what you need to do in pretty simple terms.

Hope I helped guys :P

This is kind of correct information but not so. What he means is you need to be able to play backups on your wii already. Simply installing the USB WAD file or through homebrew is all you need if you already have a modded wii. The usb loader will format it for you automatically unless you want to split the paritions.

ho0d0o, edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP. yours is 560x420 pixels.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
