Need help shrinking the size of dvd files...

I'm new to all this dvd copying. Is there any way of shrinking the size of the dvd files on my computer? I'm running out of memory fast! I wana save al my dvd's to my computer, not durn them to discs!

Yes you can,to a certain extent.Use dvd shrink in the reauthor mode and just do movie only.But this is gonna take up close to 3gb no matter how much you shrink it.So i hope you have alot of hard drive,or not many movies lol

There are other programs out there that might be able to do the same thing but this is the only one i use.
You didnt give much info,so i dont know if your familiar with this program.The above guide is a moving one for the newbie,this guide holds still for ya ...http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/user_guides.htm

If you don't intend to play your movies on standalone players, the best way to save space (while retaining quality) is to compress them to DivX/MPEG-4.

But don't ask me what program you should ask to do so. There are a lot of sites around about that matter.

For instance, if you have Nero 6, you can use Recode to compress the movie to Nero Digital (Ahead's implementation of MPEG-4) and then play it with ShowTime.
