Ok, so I haven't played my WII in a while and decided to start tinkering away with it today. Have an old Wiikey chip installed.

I updated to 4.0u without checking online at any issues (oops!)

I only have Wad Installer 1.2 channel listed though both the uninstaller and installer are listed in my channel display on my data management window. When attempting to load .wads from sd wad installer 1.2 gives error then quickly reloads to main wii menu.

wads that were previously loaded before update work unless they were moved to sd where they don't work and also refuse to be moved back to system memory.

So I basically messed up. Would greatly appreciate if someone would describe to me my options as well as what I should have done prior to updating in case someone is in a similar situation. It would also be beneficial to know exactly what damage I've done that can't be reversed as far as the games I've loaded to the sd card not being able to be re-installed if applicable.

*note* not too upset as my backups are still working and I rarely play any vc titles.

Ok, after a bit more tinkering =) I've found that the error code I was getting was related to my sd not being formatted as fat16

now Im getting error "ret = -2011"

So I suppose I'm all messed up (but no more than I already thought I was)

Lol, everybody laugh at the noob :)

Sorry for cluttering the forum, after a bit more research I've learned that I am in fact out of luck unless/until a 4.0 workaround or downgrader is released.

You need to get the wad manager for 4.0. There is one that works if you google. I use it all the time. It's still called 1.3. 1.2 was way out of date anyway.
