hi lads , i have a benq vad6038 62430 drive and the laser has packed in on it i got the drive key off it and the original firmware, i also got a vad 6038 64930 drive to replace it with how do i change the drive key on the new drive to the old drives key? i usually use ipreep when i flash the benq drives thanks lads

might be easier to just use jungle flasher. just hook up the new drive, and put the old drives FW as the 'source' and make the new drive the destination, or whatever its called within the program, and it should go just fine.

ah, yea that will mess ya up, lol. but with iprep, just make up your stick like normal, and either manually place your old FW on the stick, or dump it via iprep, unhook old drive and hook up new drive and just run the fben command.

i did that and everything goes 100 % and when i put it back together and stick a game in it it comes up as a dvd disk and not a game it says to play this disk please put it into a xbox 360?

ok i got it working man i tried again with i prep and this time it worked properly games boot up now thanks for the help. 1 more thing will this make my console more noticable now as hacked on xbox live because the original drive was revision 62430 and now my new drive is revision 64930 thanks in advance

glad you got it working. not sure about the show up as hacked thing. i wouldnt think so as its still a benq with the same FW opposed to a hitachi with benq FW on it for example.
