I have a 360 that I need to get fixed. It is still under the three year warrenty. The problem is that I bought it used and it's been registered already. I spoke with a Microsoft "agent" on the phone who said she needed the previous owner's name, email, phone number, address and date of birth. I'm not sure I can get all of this info, if any.
I did some googling. Some people say to just keep calling back until you get a laid back agent who doesn't really care. I was wondering if anyone had some experience with this and could give me some tips. Like maybe a good bull s*** story to give them.

i've heard that same thing before... that you just have to keep calling until you get someone who don't give a shit about that info and will accept the unit...
i can vouch for the 'keep calling back' method. had this happen on one of the RROD units i got from ebay. either that or you could go with, i bought it from EB games, or game stop as a used refurbished unit and they wont accept it back for a return blah blah blah.

Well I tried calling back. Worked like a charm. The very next agent I got transferred everything over to my name.
If you tell them you bought it used they might not help you because the warrenty covers the original owner only. It probably depends on the person you get on the phone for that situation as well.
It's nice that they're going to repair it for free, but it sucks that they don't ship you a coffin any more. I guess I'll have to use the one I saved from the last time my 360 broke.
