LITE-ON Key Extraction - Power Problem

Hi I'm having a problem extracting my key I have the CK3 Probe and am currently trying to connect the drive to my computer with sata. I have completely disassembled the xbox and drive. I have the probe ck3 connected (correctly :p) to the drive with the other end going to the molex power slot on the 360 mobo. I also have the video cable plugged in.
However when I then turn on the 360 absolutely nothing happens! The 360 is fine and in working condition, i have gone back and checked using the original black molex wire that comes as standard and the box turns on fine.
I suspect its a faulty probe although I wanted to run it past you guys first
thanks to everyone that's written the tutorials and everything else on this site, I would be in so much confusion were it not for this board!!

So are you getting the drive into half tray status, then probing the R707?

you have one end of the probe on 707 and the other end plugged into the 360 mobo? That doesn't sound right. Did you just buy the probe or did you buy the probe and the CK3???? The probe alone will not work.

Unfortunately not, the xbox fails to turn on, to power the drive, when the probe power cable is used

Yes, and that probe is used in conjunction with the Lite or Pro version of the CK3 connectivity kit. You must have that so you can pull the data from the Lite-ON via USB or RS232.

If all you have is what is in the picture of your link.... then you are not doing it correctly. You do not plug the probe into the mother board.

Awwww man.....
Thinking about it i'm wondering why I was naive enough to believe the key would go back through the sata interface.......
I was under the impression you could do it without one of those kits?? or is that the only way to go about it other then making my own pcb board?
Sorry guys can't believe i've been so noobish, I've done so much reading up on it but it never occurred to me.

just buy the pro version of the CK3 as it will support USB instead of just serial cables. once you get that, your probe connects to the 360 drive and the CK3 main unit, and you use a 4 pin molex cable to power the CK3 main unit which in turn powers the 360 drive. also, you run a mini usb to regular usb cable from the main unit to your computer, and a sata cable from your 360 drive to your PCI via 6421 card. then you can flash the drive. or you mail the drive to me, lol.
