well...I've got another wii and instead of softmodding, which I already know, I'd like to hardmod it. Now, my Japanese wii is modded with wiikey 1.9g, which I am still satisfied with as of now. Because of the popularity of it and lots of people use it, I am considering buying the wiikey V2. However, D2Pro9 V3 is another option. It has all the functions of wiikey V2 but also contain the USB programming cable stuff. I am now in the state of hesitation and not really sure which one to buy. I hope there would be some suggestion.

Things need to be considered before making purchase:
- Stability (such as no error or being loose during installation or the modding process)

- Compatibility (I have a mix feeling that my wii is D2DB or D2DC because I got this from ebay and according to the manufacture date, it is made in 2006 and begin with LU6XXXXX and then in the square box at the end of the serial, it is stated "6" Besides, code bar is LRV-001)

- Update Process(Being said that D2Pro9 team releases update a lot quicker and faster than wiikey team)

- Game Compatbility (which one supports more game than the other?) especially out of region games.

- Future update proof

- It is also said that D2Pro9 might not work with all wii drive but I am not really sure about Wiikey V2.

Hope you guys could help me out.

D2Pro9 V3 hands down, that's what I am using. From what I have heard from WiiKey2 users, the eject issue is terrible with it. Have been using D2Pro9 V3 for about 7 months now and have no problems what so ever. No eject issue, no game read errors, nothing.

I have a Wiikey 2 and I've had no problems at all with it after having it about 5 months. It's read every game I've thrown it whether US, JP, or PAL. If you are an experience solderer you should be fine with it. I hear D2Pro9 works better with a clip if you are going that route.

I ordered the D2Pro9 V3 and gonna do it with soldering, which is the first time. I already have wiikey 1 with my Japanese wii and now I got another one, which is the US version. I heard wiikey 2 is slightly better than wiikey 1 but also has a lot of problems and not really sure about that and hopefully D2Pro9 V3 won't let me down.
