I am new to the XBOX 360 arena. In fact, I'd never have gotten one had someone not given one to me for free. He couldn't get it to play games, and he just bought another one. I took it apart and blew it out with an air compressor, and it works just fine. I am not new, however, to the modding scene. I've been playing backups on my Wii for years, and also on my PSP, so I did a little research, and flashed the 360 with Jungle Flasher .26 beta with iXtreme 1.5 for BenQ, and it plays backups perfectly. I am happy with this, but I've been looking for a way to put my own HDD on it and play games and emulators/ homebrew, etc right off the HDD. Here's where it gets interesting. I have a...I'll call him an "associate"...that claims that his 360 is running a Linux based "dashboard" if you will, and that he has 3 120GB HDDs chained in parallel and runs all of his games and emulators with no disks. He even claims that with the Linux dashboard he can connect to a mock XBOX Live for online multiplayer and says that there's just as many people on there as are on LIVE. Curious about this, I've searched for days, and have turned up absolutely NOTHING to validate this claim. I've read how MS has, with a new update, allowed games to be backed up to the HDD, but you have to have the disk in to play the game. I've seen the mods where people have put their own 120GB HDD on, but not 3 in parallel, and certainly not where they can play games without the disks. So, I leave you with this question: Is he telling the truth??? Thanks guys.
A total lie. The only hack you can do easily on the 360 is the firmware mod. NO homebrew yet. And def.not chaining 3 120GB HDD's together. It's kinda funny to be honest with ya.
ya i think the dude is talking about an xbox ... not an xbox 360 ... who knows what's possible with a regular xbox and who cares... 360 is where its at
