So I downgraded me friends wii from 3.4u to 3.2u so I could get all the fun channels, etc.
So he tried his store bought mario kart and it's telling him that he needs to upgrade the system in order to play that game. Seems fishy to me. WTF, is it gonna brick, or is it ok to do the upgrade... I wanna just send him a a dvd copy but I haven't got around to it... Can someone tell me the scoop.

no brick ,it will just remove some hack functionality (not HBC). Mario kart contains 3.3 update..for you to play the retail copy is to update or
1) you can used starfall to block the firmware update.
2) if you have a backup copy then you have to brickblock to remove the update from the disk.
Thanks... MY syste came with 3.3u so I ran over to the store, and looked for the newest release to see if I could get the same message, and I did... With Moto GP 08' (which suck BTW). I didn't upgradte to play it, I just made a back up, and brickblocked it. So does that mean the retail Moto Gp 08' contains 4.0?

no game yet that came out with 4.0..so it might be 3.4..
