I follow the JF tutorial and when i try to read the key i get a serial data is bad error. It looks like it reads the key twice then return the error.

Here is my log:

Serial data bad means the tray half open was not done correctly or you are not touching the R707 hole (assuming you are using the probe/spear).

Power cycle the CK3 after you use it to open the tray

Looks like you are getting a connection just for a bit as you returned 2 instances of what might be your key. I've found if I point the probe in at an angle, I read the key perfect 6 times. But like the other member said, re-do the the tray to half status, power cycle and give it a go again. Thank you for providing a log, helps us help you out.

i've been trying for the past 2 days with the same result. I put the probe in at an angle and redid the tray half open with a power cycle. It will still read the keys twice and then return the serial data bad error. Could it be the USB drivers? SATA chipset not compatible?

Does it allow you to save the Inquiry, Identify, and Dummy bin? If so, you could spoof that info to another drive and test it out in your console. If it works, all your information is good.

What type of chipset are you using?

it doesn't allow me to save anything. I don't know what chipset but here is the mobo specs:

check xboxexperts.com and look for flash your liteon for free and build that alternative circuit coz the first one gave me serial data bad error anyway try them both

2 second glance and 3 second to verified. Total 5 seconds and you can see it an ATI SB400 chipset.

Not sure if this is actually on the support list or not.
