this may be a dumb question but, i just had my xbox flashed. I still have the old xbox dashboard, is it alright to download to the new dashboard. I assume it is because the dvd drive was what was flashed, but i just wanted to make sure, because my friend said he had to download the latest dashboard via xbox live before he flashed his Hitachi drive. Mine is a liteon and i had someone flash mine

It's nearly impossible to play any game on xbox live w/o being prompted to update to NXE... so there's no way around it.

or you can just udate via a usb to the new dashboard thats what i did dint want to go on live just in case if ya want the update just pm me i have it

The NXE update can be downloaded via www.xbox.com and then updated using a CD-R or an usb stick.

PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Yes. Quite usefull when you don't have live and formatted the drive the update was saved on. I only had a half new NXE, without the avatar and so on untill wave 3 games were released.

i haven't played any of the new games, so i am going to have to get it from xbox.com thanks, didn't know you could get it from usb.
