I have downloaded an Xbox 360 game for my son but it is 6.2GB and my DVD-R discs are only 4.7GB. I have seen 9.4GB ram.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD-Ram discs - can I use these to burn the game onto?

it's looks like you posted about a dvdram double sided disc(?). If that's the case - nope those won't work.
You'll need to use DVD DL +R discs - get Verbatim
dual layer at new egg
