1. I have read time and time again that using a modified firmware/backed up game will get you banned from xbox live, and im fine with that i suppose as the only games i play on my 360 are games with my real life friends... i much prefer playing games on my 1920x1200 monitor with a 3000 dpi precision gaming mouse enabling me to serve some good ol' headshot fun to you from half a map away... I mostly play soul calibur 4/Rockband and N+ (those of you who haven't checked out N+ and who are not banned from live should at least download the demo... as in right now :P)
But what about the games/add on content i have purchased, such as the aforemetioned xbox live arcade games and Rockband songs? Halo 3 online I can live without but not my songs man. also i use the netflix application so my daughter can watch barney in my living room (shes 2 and the big purple moron really appeases her). if i do get banned from xbox live is netflix toast? i assume it would be. figured i would clarify.
2. rather than do the mod myself, i paid someone off of craigslist who said i will most likely not need to update my firmware. how do i find out which version of Iextreme i am using or is it even possible to tell? He also switched my broken benQ for a functional lite-on, was that a mistake?
3. what exactly is a "stealth patched game"? does it eliminate the ability to get caught on xbox live?
4. what exactly causes you to be banned on xbox live? playing a backed up game online, playing a backed up game period net connection or otherwise, or simply modded FW?
5. has anyone to date been convicted for playing backed up games?
6. lastly before reading up I bought a 50 pack of memorex dvd+R DL 8x from some website and on the way home bought a 2 pack of Sonydvd+R DL 2.4x. are they usable at all? I have heard people recommend verbatim whom i have had issues with many long years ago (2005)
whats the official word? has anyone successfully used either of these?
I ask you in the humblest way I can that if you do not KNOW an answer for a fact, please indicate that your response is merely speculation. there is already enough of that on this forums and would like to see a legitimate discussion on these facts rather than create yet another thread full of convoluted answers.
Afterdawn is the community that long ago taught me everything about modding a PSP, and now I hope it can do the same with the 360.

Wait, have you already got your 360 flashed?
3. Stealth patching a game doesn't entirely make you safe on live, but it helps.
4. Nobody knows for sure, but it's obviously playing a backed up game (if ms could detect firmware then everyone with a flashed drive would be banned).
5. I would say not... ms usually just bans you from xbox live... but it might of happened.
6. Verbatim is recommended... but if you have 50 memorex i would give them a go.
