Hi guys i have just got a RROD so i went and got a new xbox360 .......i also have a modded xbox360 ....can i use the DVDROM out of the broken xbox to backup games via my PC ??? cheers

my bad, you can. i thought your asked to play games via your computer, not backup. so i appologize. but to accomplish this, you need to flash the current 360 drive with the 0800 FW, provided its a benq or sammsung. if its a hitachi or lite-on you have to wait until iextreme 1.6 is out, and then it will have the 0800 support. you also need to get a connectivity kit in order to power the drive via your pc. then you can backup games with either schtrom, or XBC.
side note, im suprised someone hasnt already corrected me about this, but im glad they didnt.

cant you just make that connectivity kit like those ck3s? for liteon maybe.myself i believe in building stuff myself coz its fun provided ya know wat ya doin.
