What do you mean when you hooked it to the net you upgraded? Do you mean the Wii's firmware? If you updated the firmware to 4 without installing the Homebrew Channel first then you're screwed.

It's likely going to be 4 on a new one. Why not look for a used one instead with 3.4 or lower?

If the serial is LU64XXXXXX or above there is a good chance it can not be modded at this time.

i wish i could get modded. I dont know anyone that can solder or at least knows what to do? I have a option of taking it back to kmart and getting a new one at say walmart. But i think all the wii 's for sale have the LU6# on them all :(

im bringing back to Kmart so ill get the l6u4# but it will not have the 4.0 upgrade. WHen i got it a week ago it has the l6u4# for the serial. But when i went to hook it up to the net it had a system update. So im guessing it was 3.4 from what ive researched. What can i do with 3.4?

also my serial # has a 3 in a box what ever that means.

cac, edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP. you have upwards of 9 lines of text even tho there is 3 lines of text showing.
4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.
