Hi all
Ive just purchased a used LG 8162 drive. For some bizzare reason there was no sticker stating the jumper settings
My other drives are SATA, so this is the first and only ide drive. Ive connected the master cables etc and tested it with an audi cd to see if it works.
When i try to use rawdump, I get the following error
"unhandled exception has occurred in the application, if you continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. if you click quit, the application with close immediately.
unable to load DLL "rdump.dll" the specific module could not be found (exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)"
Im thinking this is due to the jumper settings not being correct. However, I dont know what settings they should be. Ive searched online to no avail. Can someone shed any light on the settings and/or the above code, so that i can start illimating problems and establish if the drive is working.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I don't think jumper settings have anything to do with this. I've run mine as master and slave and both worked for me.
I would try downloading rawdump again and make sure all the files are there. Also, do you have .NET Framework 2.0 installed?

Just for clarification, what do you mean verify? Do you mean rip it from the disc to your computer?

Wow, jumper settings are pretty easy and bascially just tells the pc where your device sits on the chain. If it's the only IDE device, set it to master. If the pc boots and windows see it, you've done it right. Any errors, burn problems, etc. would have nothing to do with jumpers.

Did you even read the post?? You basically just repeated the first thing I said.
PLUS, I already told him what to do and he did it and it seemed to work... just waiting for clarification at this point.

I was simply explaining the difference since you didn't explain that or know what they are. You don't want to run "slave" if it's the only one on the ribbon. My post is totally different that yours.

lol, that's the best you could come up with?!!
I know what jumpers are and what they do... but since I knew that wasn't the problem I didn't bother explaining how it should be set on his drive. It was obvious it was a software issue... that's why I had him download rawdump again.
Now get a life and get lost... PLEASE!
