Wassup guys (first post on forum. thnx for having me)

Hey, i know you guys see this sht EVERYDAY. but please, 1 more time for me?
I have Lite-on drive in 360. Heres my theoretical setup for getting the key.
Btw before i write, im looking to buy a xbox 360 connectivity kit. new or 2nd hand, idc as long as it works with no kinks. It has to have power slot from xbox drive, molex power adapter, Serial cable OR USB cable, not both coz that costs a mint. An on off button would be much obliged too. email or PM me if any thnx :)

1: Lite on drive with SATA cable coming out to USB converter, then comp
2: CK3 probe for power going to connectivity kit Version whatever. Molex power from PC going into the kit. USB cable OR serial cable port into comp aswell. Then i flash and bobs ur uncle.

ANY help or little tips would be greatly appreciated for this noob. thnx alot guys and sorry, i know you see these all the time but one more for me please?

It seems to me like you have it down perfectly fine. If you have any doubts just read up on the hundreds of tuts on the subject.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/732865

Thats a good place to start.

While your waiting to get the Connectivity kit, go ahead and download everything you would need,

Jungleflasher(search google or threads here, you'll find many links)
iExtreme 1.51 for Lite-on(again, google, or if you can, wait a couple weeks until 1.6 comes out, might have some security updates and would save you from flashing twice)
PortIO32 (comes with Jungleflasher but make sure in case)

If you have a 64 bit operating system get your hands on a 32bit XP, it'll save you a lot of headaches later on.

Bookmark a good tut on the subject, so you can come back and reference it as you go. Also, find a tut on Jungleflasher, can be found in many places, as always, googles your friend.

Thats pretty much it man, hope you have a good experience.

Oh and by the way, if you don't want to buy a connectivity kit, you can make one to flash a lite-on pretty easily and cheaply if you know a little bit about electronics, and depending on how good you are at following instructions, might not need to know anything about electronics.
http://tinyurl.com/6egw9q
That is a pretty easy one to follow, and it was made completely of random parts found easily at electronics stores or around the house.

Hope any of this helps!

That USB to Sata thing will never work.
Enough spoonfed for today.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Haha, I missed the USB-Sata part. Haven't tried it myself as my computer has a plethora of Sata ports on it so I haven't needed one.

So, to sum it up, USB-Sata iffy at best, everything else seems fine. Good luck!

Do yourself a HUGE favor and just get the proper sata-pci card Via 6421. they are cheap and make things easy. but as you have a lite-on be sure to remove the drivers before flashing.

I got lucky flashing mine, computer had onboard VIA chipset and didn't have to uninstall drivers. Worked perfectly, just had to plug in the sata cable and go. But I know not many others have had this luck. Guess that four leaf clover tattoo finally kicking in now.

I could of had mine professionaly done too, but in my opinion they are not as good, as doing it myself for the following reasons:
1. Modder has to be trusted.
2. The modder is opening up your console, and who knows how much care he takes in modding and taking apart it.
3. Your Xbox 360 could be accidently bricked by the modder.
3. You can't update your firmware on your drive, you have to send it back to the modder for more money.

@TomN34 - Yeah, I agree, thats why I did mine. But, when you do your own you can brick it too, all depends on if you know what your doing(to an extent) and your at the mercy of your OS and the program your using to flash it.
If your worried the xbox isn't being taken care of, see if you can just take the drive to them.

But, as I said, I prefer to do my own, because I don't want to have to take it to someone everytime I need it updated. But some people would rather take it to someone who has done more than one, to each their own.
Whichever way you want to do it, have fun with it.
