Should I leave my 360 turned on for the next few days?

Long story short:

Bought modded 360. It died after a good life.

Bought 2nd modded 360, it died yesterday.

First modded 360 had 1 red light and this time I thought I'd try the towel trick but really heat the bastard up.

Left it cooking for an hour then turned it off and let cool.

Turned it on, works. After turning it on and off 3 more times, it got the 1 red light again.

Did towel trick again and it's working.

My latest 360 is still under warranty but I won't get it back for about a week so my question is this -

Should I leave the 360 turned on and hope it keeps working until my new console gets back to me or keep turning it on and off as normal? Would appreciate a speedy reply as it is on as I type.

P.S I have a small pedestal fan that I can plug into a timer so it blows on it periodically and keeps it cool.

The constant heat cycle you are doing will eventually ruin the board completly. what error are you getting with the 1 red light. if its e74 and the console is less than 3 yrs w/a good warranty stickerthen it would be covered also

It is most always inadvisable to leave any game console on for days at a time. The longer the game console is left on, the hotter it will become ? the inside of the Xbox 360 will heat up to extreme temperatures without proper ventilation. I personally would not leave the game console on for more than a few hours if it is not being used; even then, I would only leave it on if I was downloading something from Xbox Live. You could always try leaving it on for 8 or more hours and see what happens. I don?t think the towel trick guarantees that the Xbox 360 will be functioning as long as it is keep on, so if my previous assumption is true, then the Xbox 360 might display the RROD after a given time (even while it is on).

I?ve heard that sometimes the towel trick renders the Xbox 360 functional for a week?s time and other times, it only works for a few hours. Good luck.
