Long time reader, 1st time poster.... I love this site and thanks to all the contributors because you've all really helped me. :D

Anyway, there's been a few times when I'm getting a large file from usenet and 1 of the zipped folders (out of 80 or so) will be corrupt. Since I'm doing this on a wireless connection with a free newsreader they take about 10 hours to download. Is there anyway I can get the single zipped folder I need without getting the entire thing over again? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work. :)

Piracy is forbidden on this board. Edit your post, before a mod sees you.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Oops, I guess I mis-read the rules. Will that edit suffice?

Okay, I got the file again, and it's still saying the file is corrupt. :/

I guess it's just a bad rip.

the usenet post should have other files included with the extension .PAR2

these par2 files can be used to repair any broken zip files you download... if you have enough par2 files they can even replace entire missing .zip/.rar files

google 'quickpar' and try using it with any .PAR2 files you can download for the usenet post you're going after.

Thanks for the help. I got 'quickpar' but I'm kind of confused as to how it works. The usenet post came with a bunch of PAR2 files but how do I know which PAR2 files are assosciated with the .r59 file that is corrupt?

The par2 files contain recovery volumes that are compressed to fix any file in the archive. Just open the first .par2 file and it'll automatically scan all the .rar files and fix what's broken.
